Review: Life n Soul BM101 Water Resistant Speaker
When you want a speaker you can easily take on the go, it’s hard to have the sound quality and volume you desire. The Life n Soul BM101 is there to give you both, all while being a compact size and close to weightless so you barely notice it when you’re on your adventure.
The Life n Soul BM101 speaker is pretty self explanatory, there aren’t many buttons to get confused by and the few it has are understandable. A quick scan of the instructions and you’ll be using it right away. And the best part…The speaker comes charged when you get it, because let’s face it, we all want to try things the second we get them.
The speaker and your device connect via bluetooth and works well as long as you keep the speaker and phone in close range.
What exactly does water resistant mean? The speaker isn’t too clear on how much water it can withstand and still work properly. It would be nice if the speaker was completely submergible, but at just under $25 you can’t ask for much more than what it already has to offer.
The battery life is our biggest complaint with the BM101 Mini Water Resistant Speaker, at 2.5 hours it would be hard to take it on anything more than a short adventure. It’s charged with a USB cord so if you were camping or out in nature you wouldn’t really be able to charge it.
Design and Aesthetic ★★★★★
The BM101 comes in a range of 5 different colors: white, black, pink, purple, and blue. It is fitted with a rubber stretchable strap so you can easily attach it to backpacks, bike handles, or wear it around your wrist. The speaker unit is sporty and attractive, and could easily be mistaken for a fan (but we don’t necessarily see that as a bad thing). The variety of colors and ways you can attach the BM101 makes it very versatile for almost any activity.
The speaker unit seems relatively solid for the materials it’s made of, it could probably be dropped now and then and still be fine. Although I wouldn’t expect it to be able to withstand lots of wear and tear so I’d definately take care of it. The strap that connects to the speaker is very thin and seems like it could easily break or even slip right off the speaker itself, but if you wanted to get crafty the rubber strap could easily be replaced with something more durable.
The Life n Soul BM101 Water Resistant Speaker is $24.99, which considering what it can do for it’s size, is quiet impressive. You can change the song from the speaker itself, as well as, pause/play it, and turn the volume up/down. For the price, size, volume level, quality of sound, and other capabilities, this speaker is quite the package.
